MOTIF x B-PUMP
In April 2024, MOTIF collaborated with B-PUMP & 9 degrees for 'B-PUMP Sessions Sydney', a massive week-long event, culminating in a competition featuring the debut of MOTIF's inaugural PU & Fiberglass hold sets. Follow along as special guests Katsu Miyazawa and Tsukuru Hori join the 9 degrees setting team to help create a competition and finals spectacle to remember!
SETTING FILMS
Top Froth
Topfroth was a passion project that lent very heavily on the creative prowess of my good friend Tristan Casin. Together we hoped to create personable and casual feeling YouTube episodes of predominantly route setting related content in an attempt to share our psych for setting and the industry in general with other people.
I look back at this channel with very fond memories and I'm hopeful we can add more to the channel at some point in the future. Unfortunately, this project is currently on indefinite hiatus until such time that Tristan decides to return to Sydney from his recent move to Canada.
COLABS
Magnus
This light hearted collaboration came about very quickly and didn't leave much time for preparation, but the idea was simple; have Magnus join a beginner bouldering clinic at my home gym of 9 degrees Waterloo and attempt to coach the class without blowing his cover or letting on about his true identity! This video got a crazy amount of views, quickly surpassing the 1 million views marker and now sitting at a crazy 6.7 million!
Definitely hard to keep a straight face at times but well worth it to play host to one of climbing's biggest personalities!
Laurie Shaw
When Laurie first approached me about a 30 day bouldering challenge for his YouTube channel, I was admittedly a little sceptical. But, after doing it and seeing the reception it got, I was on board to collaborate once again, this time for a 'learn to lead' challenge. The 5 part series was shot over a couple of months between the Blue Mountains and Sydney and goes into a heap more detail than we were able to for our first bouldering challenge vid. Although the viewership hasn't been super high, I think the production quality, scenery and infomation this mini-series is something we can be proud of putting out there.
